Easter Day

Celebrate with Us! A Virtual Easter!

Everyone’s Easter plans probably look a little different this year. Maybe you’re self-quarentining at home all alone, you’ve had to cancel travel plans to see friends or loved ones, or even just pared back your dinner celebration to just those in your household. Let’s make the most of what we do have this year and celebrate this opportunity to experience Easter in an out-of-the-box fashion.
We will be with you throughout the day to watch the sun rise, worship, cook, and even play some games. Below is our Easter Day schedule so we can all join together as a faith community and celebrate. He Is Risen!
Click here for an Easter playlist to inspire you throughout the day!

6:15 am | Sunrise Devotion with Pastor Josh

Welcoming us into his home, Pastor Josh will lead us in an Easter morning devotion to prepare our hearts for the resurrection of our Lord as we watch the sunrise.

7:45 am | Resurrection Rolls with Brittany

Join Brittany and her kids in making a special Easter breakfast: Resurrection Rolls! This is a fun and messy way to share the Easter story with your household. We’ve even made a special recipe card for you to keep for years to come.

10:00 am | Easter with the Disciples Worship Service

As the disciples celebrated Easter locked in their homes, we will join each other online from the comfort of our own homes for a time of gentle worship and celebration.

12:00 pm | Easter Dinner Check-In with the Browns

The Browns will be checking in with everyone to hear about your Easter plans. They’re looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing about your celebration – decor, meals, and traditions.

3:00 pm | Easter Story Jeopardy

We’ll be testing your kiddos knowledge about the Easter story, so get to studying! Winner gets some major bragging rights 😉

5:00 pm | Easter Minute To Win It Games

Fast-paced and insanely funny, these games are a great way to end the day together! For the best experience, you’ll want to have the following items easily on hand – per player:
Empty egg carton
Four empty paper towel rolls
30 plastic eggs
9 hard-boiled eggs
Egg dying kit
Three cups
One pair of chopsticks
Cadbury egg
Optional: 6 prizes for the winners of each game

Ready to start celebrating? We’ve got some ideas!

Easter Decor | Since we’re all stuck at home and Hobby Lobby is closed, we thought you could use some inspiration. Here’s a link to our Easter Pinterest board to get your creative juices flowing: https://pin.it/43jEKo2
Easter Dance Challenge | Yes, that’s right. It’s a dance challenge! All ages are highly encouraged to participate! Here’s how it works: Jessica Cartwright, our Youth Ensemble Director, choreographed a super fun Easter dance for us. Click here to watch and learn the choreography and send us a video of you by yourself, with a friend, or with your family, dancing your hearts out. We’ll use the videos in a special way during our Easter celebration!
Easter Artist Showcase | Take some intentional time to meditate on the Passion story and create some art! All ages are welcomed and encouraged to send us pictures of your finished products. We will create a virtual art gallery to share with our faith community.
Last but certainly not least, we are looking for kiddos to help us tell the Easter story with their families. If you are interested in serving in this way, please contact Brittany Brown at brittany@stlukesreno.org for your assignment.
Thank you all for your incredible grace and patience as we journey through uncharted territory together! We are all certainly being pushed outside of our comfort zones, but God is so much bigger than all of this. Even in the midst of fear and confusion, He’s doing incredible work in our faith community!
