St. Lukes Lutheran Church is a vibrant, loving, and involved faith community that believes in building relationships through faith. We are seeking a Director of Administration who possesses the ability to create a seamlessly-flowing, optimally-organized office that is able to support the ministry needs of the church by ensuring teamwork, communications, and efficiency in all areas; and overseeing the proper and timely management of all church records, policies, and financials; managing staff; and maintaining the facilities.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creating and leading an office  and organizational culture that is positive, helpful, and collaborative; a work environment that invites people, both staff and volunteers, to engage and grow personally and as a community
  • Creating and leading a culture where volunteers see the church office as a point of support to help them succeed in their ministries
  • Leading Church operations, including staff and volunteers, to insure professional execution of such areas as:
    • Bookkeeping, including counting money, paying bills, and managing the budget with the support of the Council Treasurer
    • Insuring successful operations of church office and technologies
    • Working closely with maintenance staff and Board of Property Managers to maintain the condition of the facilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with both staff and volunteers
  • Excellent people skills experience, seeing people as the solution, not the problem
  • Experienced Team-player, making sure everyone is successful in a team environment
  • Proven Commitment to helping volunteers and staff feel appreciated and valued 
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail 
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal skills

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 5 years of professional leadership and administrative experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various office software, technology, and appropriate applications, to insure efficiency.
  • Sufficient Technical knowledge to understand and oversee office technology acquisition and maintenance. 
  • Experience in Quickbooks or other accounting software
  • Volunteer leadership
